that first descent introduced a multi-peak cadence of scrambling, climbing, and balancing our way through a gluttony of gorgeous wood, vibrant trail, and large, technical boulders ― a true backpackers dream.

I don’t think either of us expected to enjoy death valley in the ways we did. And I don’t think either of us expected to have such amazing experiences together...it had been years since our last trip together.
